Many of you know the story, but we love an excuse to tell it again. We first came across each other on a dating app when Alex was visiting friends in Boston. By the time we matched, Alex was already back in Toronto; but after easy conversation, we decided to stay connected on Instagram, hoping for an opportunity to get together. Little did we know what the future held.
Fast forward two years to Osheaga music festival in Montreal. The morning of the festival, Eva and her friends walked into a random Starbucks for a caffeine fix, and spotted Alex sitting at a table working on his laptop (realistically, pretending to work). She knew she recognized him, but said her name loudly to the barista hoping he would overhear. He did overhear, and was checking instagram to make sure she still followed him. She did.
We officially introduced ourselves with hugs, exchanged numbers, and spent the entire weekend together, merging our friend groups. We had our first date over brunch (captured in the photo below) and shared a first kiss during Rufus Du Sol’s set.
From there on out we visited each other every chance we got,
making excuses to fly to different cities and countries to
“meet in the middle”, igniting our love for adventure together.
Finally, we got engaged on top of a mountain in Colorado,
solidifying the unspoken choice we had already both made:
each other, for life.
Most importantly, through our fated encounter, we met all
of each other's friends and family (YOU!) who will be joining
us in our celebration of love. We hope you know how deeply
we care about you and how grateful we are to be able to
share this unforgettable day with you.
